CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL PHARMACOVIGILANCE WEEK 2023

As per the circular of PCI dated 1st September 2023, the Celebration of National Pharmacovigilance Week was organized by KVV “Deemed To be University” Krishna Institute of Pharmacy. Inauguration of National Pharmacovigilance Week was done at the university level on 18th September 2023. The theme of National Pharmacovigilance Week 2023 was “Boosting Public Confidence in Pharmacovigilance”.

The Chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Suresh Sarvadekar, Ex. Asst. Director, Ministry of Medical Education and Health, Govt. of Maharashtra. The Guest of honor of the function was Dr. M. V. Ghorpade, Registrar KVV “Deemed To be University”. Krishna Institute of Pharmacy coordinated the activities of National Pharmacovigilance Week under the guidance of Dean Dr. N. R Jadhav sir. The inaugural function was graced by Professor & HOD, Department of Pharmacology, KIMS, Dr. Mrs. V. M. Thorat, and Senior Professor Dr. Chitra Khanwelkar, Department of Pharmacology, KIMS. Dr. Varadrajulu, Dean of Krishna College of Physiotherapy, and Mrs. Shubhangi Patil, Principal, of Krishna College of Pharmacy, also was part of the Inauguration ceremony.

Two Scientific sessions were conducted after the Inauguration. Session 1:Topic: Pharmacovigilance from Invention, Manufacturing, and During and After use of medicines Resource Person: Dr. Suresh Saravdekar, Ex. Asst. Director, Ministry of Medical Education and Health, Govt. of Maharashtra. Session 2:Topic: PharmacovigilanceResource Person: Dr. Mrs. V. M. Thorat, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, KVV, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad

On 20 th September 2023, Community level awareness was conducted. Displayed of A3/A4 Poster (Self Adhesive) targeting 40 Pharmacies (Koynavasahat&Karad), Distributed Brochures (100 No.) to the general public who visited Community Pharmacy, Displayed Poster/Standee at the KIMS Pharmacy site, Brochure Distributed to General Public visited our hospital.

On 21st September 2023, the Scientific Session for Final Year B. Pharm and Pharm D Students was conducted at S1 hall of KVV KIMS from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm. The Topic of the session was“Importance of ADR Monitoring”. The Resource Person was Dr. V. C. Patil, Professor and Head of the General Medicine Department, KVV, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad. The celebration of this week was coordinated by Dr.Bijoy Panda, Mrs. Jisha, and Dr. Amina Department of Pharmacy Practice under the valuable guidance of Dean Dr. N. R. Jadhav.
